Beginners Stone Setting Workshop

This course is aimed at beginners looking to learn the traditional craft of stone setting. In this one-day workshop you will create your very own stone set pendant. During the day you will work with copper, practicing traditional jewellery techniques, and leave with a beautiful unique piece of sterling silver jewellery.

As an introduction to the possibilities in jewellery craft, you will learn how to create a setting, working with metal and the important details of filing and polishing a stone setting. A selection of stones and sterling silver is included in this packed day of jewellery craft. No previous experience required.

Techniques covered:

  • Working with copper and silver

  • Soldering, shaping and metal manipulation

  • Filing and setting preparation

  • Annealing and pickeling

  • Polishing & finishing
